Donation Refund Policy
When a donation can be refunded, how to request it, and how approved refunds are returned to the original payment method.
Care4Heroes Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 99-4974795). Every donation we receive is directed toward the recovery of wounded Israeli soldiers, and funds are committed to surgeries, prosthetics, and rehabilitation as soon as they are received. For that reason, donations to Care4Heroes are generally non-refundable.
We understand that mistakes happen. We will review a refund request made within 30 days of the donation date in the following circumstances:
- The donation was made in error - a duplicate charge, an incorrect amount, or a gift intended for another organization.
- The donation was made with a lost or stolen payment method, or without the cardholder's authorization.
- A recurring monthly gift was set up unintentionally.
- Care4Heroes is unable to honor a restriction the donor placed on the gift.
Requests involving fraud or unauthorized use of a payment method are not subject to the 30-day limit. Please contact us as soon as you become aware of the charge.
How to Request a Refund
Email bh@care4heroes.org with the subject line Refund Request, or call +1 (929) 278-6896. Please include the donor's name, the donation amount, the date of the donation, and the reason for the request. Requests must be made in writing or confirmed in writing.
How Refunds Are Processed
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. Please allow 5-10 business days for the refund to appear on your statement. Refunds cannot be issued to a different card, account, or person.
Monthly Donations
Members of the Heroes Recovery Circle may cancel monthly giving at any time, with no cancellation fee and no minimum commitment. Email or call us and we will stop future charges within 2-3 business days. Cancelling stops future gifts; refunds of past monthly gifts are considered only under the 30-day policy above.
Tax Receipts
If a donation is refunded, the related tax receipt is no longer valid. If you have already claimed a charitable deduction for a refunded gift, please consult your tax advisor about whether your return needs to be amended. Care4Heroes cannot provide tax advice.
